James Alexander Dasher, Jr. (1897-1971) was a piano teacher in Valdosta, Georgia.
Valdosta, the county seat of Lowndes County after the railroad was built in 1860, received its name when moved from Troupville, named for Governor Troup whose estate was called Val d’Osta (Valdosta) after the Valle d’Aosta in Italy.
It is my assumption that the title of this work is named for the city where James Dasher lived his entire life.
